Berchida and the numbered-access Bidderosa reserve just south of it protect a stretch of the east Sardinian coast that has largely escaped development, their long sandy beaches backed by juniper scrub and umbrella pine rather than hotels. Sandy paths lead through the dunes to the shore at both.
