The "Englishman's Path" links the stone hamlets of the Aspromonte grecanico — Gallicianò, Roghudi Vecchio, Bova — following mule tracks that the painter Edward Lear walked and sketched in 1847. Any single stage is a fine day out, through holm oak and broom with the Ionian far below and the ghost villages emptied by 20th-century floods.
