Seminara's decorated terracotta, particularly its distinctive whistle-shaped figures, has been made here for centuries despite the town being repeatedly levelled and rebuilt by earthquakes, most severely in 1783 and 1908. The belvedere gives a view down toward the Costa Viola coast below.
