Riserva Naturale Serre di Ciminna

Sicilia

The "Serre" of Ciminna are a crest of Messinian gypsum riddled with karst — swallow-holes, a natural bridge, small caves — and edged by clay badlands. Paths from the village cross it with a view over the Torto valley to the Madonie; Ciminna itself stood in for a Baron's town in Visconti's "Il Gattopardo".
