Just north of the more famous Piano Grande, Pian Perduto is a smaller high plain that floods and dries with the seasons, ringed by bare limestone peaks. It sees a fraction of Castelluccio's crowds, with grazing horses and cattle the main company on the flat cart tracks that cross it.
