Perloz — Passeggiata dei Castagni

The lower Lys valley around Perloz is noticeably lusher and greener than the drier main Dora Baltea valley, its slopes covered in old chestnut groves once vital to the local diet. A waymarked path links a string of small stone hamlets through the chestnut woods, easy and mostly shaded.
