Mirroring the Bergamasche park on the opposite flank of the same range, this park covers the steep north-facing valleys of the Orobie above the Valtellina — Val Lesina, Val Tartano, Val Venina — dropping from the ridge crest toward the Adda valley floor. The terrain is generally steeper and less visited than the Bergamo side, with old mining hamlets and dairy alpeggi scattered through the upper valleys.
