Monti della Calvana, Prato
Toscana
The Calvana is a long north–south wall of karst grassland — no trees on the crest, dry-stone walls, sinkholes and the odd shepherd's shelter — culminating at Poggio Cocollo (916 m). The ridge path gives Florence and the Arno plain on one side, the Apennine on the other, and often the Calvana's own free-ranging cattle for company.
