From Masarolis or the Drenchia side, paths climb through beech and then broad pasture to the 1,237 m dome of Monte Mia on the Italy-Slovenia border. Old trench lines and a small chapel mark the top, which looks over the Natisone valleys, the Julian Prealps and, east, deep into Slovenia.
