Monte Lema from Dumenza

From Dumenza above Luino a marked path (part of the Via Verde Varesina) climbs steadily through chestnut, then beech and open pasture, to the 1,620 m dome of Monte Lema on the Swiss frontier. The summit — also served by a cable car from the Malcantone side — gives a clean double view of the two big lakes and the Monte Rosa massif beyond.
