Manarola's houses climb steeply from a tiny natural harbour cut into the rock, framed by some of the Cinque Terre's most dramatic terraced vineyards, worked by a small monorail system that still hauls grapes up the slopes. A short path above the village gives the classic postcard view back over the harbour and houses.
