At around 1,000 m on the karst plateau above Frosolone, the little Lago di Arcichiaro holds rainwater in a grassy hollow among beech wood and sheep pasture. A near-level path circles it in ten minutes; the wider plateau, dotted with "morge" rock outcrops, invites longer wandering.
