A hairpin road (walkable) climbs Monte San Biagio from Maratea to the huge white statue of Christ the Redeemer — arms spread, facing inland — and the basilica that holds the town's patron. From the terrace the whole Tyrrhenian coast of Basilicata unrolls, cliffs and coves as far as Calabria.
