Champdepraz sits at the foot of the Mont Avic massif, its trail climbing more gradually into the park's lower forests than the higher, more exposed serpentine-rock routes covered elsewhere. The lower valley here is noticeably greener and more wooded than much of the surrounding Aosta Valley.
